Service, Training, Research & Development

Behavioral Health Division

The Behavioral Health Care team brings together extensive skills and experience in the areas of policy, service, research/development, consultation, and training. This diversity of expertise, together with a community-minded focus, reflects the commitment to applying empirical knowledge and serious research to the resolution of real-world problems.

Service

The division provides outpatient co-occurring mental health and substance abuse treatment services to individuals, couples, and families from a patient-centered perspective, emphasizing all aspects of the person, including the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual.

Research and Consultation

Division faculty and staff are committed to the goal of developing and implementing innovative multidisciplinary research programs that improve the availability, accessibility, and acceptability of behavioral health care across the life span. Research areas of interest include, integrated behavioral health care services in primary care, implementation science, program development and evaluation, and families involved with the criminal justice system.

Division and Institute faculty and staff offer expertise in consultation, strategic planning, and program development/implementation to private and public organizations. The Divisions goal is to deliver evidenced-based training, evaluation, and organizational intervention services that enhance performance and integration while improving patient outcomes.

Training

Faculty and staff utilize evidenced-based training methods and techniques in educating future and existing health care workforces across a range of disciplines, including physicians, nurses, psychologists, marriage and family therapists, and allied health professionals. The focus of training is on applying state-of-the-art science to the practice of integrated health care delivery.
