Residency Activities

All major activities will be performed on a longitudinal basis. However, the resident and the residency preceptor shall tailor the program to the interests of the resident, and may incorporate certain rotations into the residency as seen fit. The resident's schedule, based on a 50-hour work week, will be spent in the following areas:

- 40% Providing direct patient care
- 20% Gaining experience in pharmacy operations
- 20% Providing education
- 10% Developing new patient care services
- 10% Upholding academia and enhancing research skills
The weighting of each learning experience may vary, according to the resident's personal interests or previous experiences. However, the emphasis of learning in a community pharmacy residency will be placed on providing direct patient care and gaining experience in pharmacy operations.
