Continuing Education

Continuing Pharmaceutical Education exists to serve the educational needs of practicing pharmacists in Texas. Within the context of the Mission of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, the Mission of the Office of Continuing Education is to:

  • Provide high quality continuing pharmaceutical education opportunities for pharmacists in Texas, to assist them in maintaining their basic knowledge as well as to learning new advances in comprehensive medication use management enabling them to provide a high quality of patient care.

  • Ensure the quality of educational programs by adhering to guidelines and standards set forth by The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, Inc. (ACPE).

  • Provide a mechanism whereby faculty can report research findings and the impact on the quality of patient care within the structure of an established educational program.

  • To meet the special educational needs of pharmacists practicing in rural communities.

The Division of Continuing Education is dedicated to providing the highest quality of CE programs for faculty, alumni, and members of the pharmaceutical community. An emphasis is placed on providing a safe, comfortable learning environment.

The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education approved the Texas Tech School of Pharmacy's Office of Continuing Education as a provider of continuing pharmaceutical education on March 6, 1996. The Office of Continuing Education is located at 1300 Coulter, Suite 206, Amarillo, Texas. Since that time, the program has grown to provide continuing education programming to pharmacist located throughout Texas and the Nation.
