Clinics

The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic is a clinic for the general population of West Texas and Eastern New Mexico. The Clinic provides comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services to individuals with speech, language and hearing disorders. Graduate students in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences receive clinical training while being supervised by faculty who are certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and licensed by the state of Texas as speech-language patholigists and audiologists. The clinic integrates state of the art services with cutting edge research to provide the latest in outpatient diagnostic, treatment and consultative services for all types of speech, language and hearing disorders.

The TTUHSC Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic is located on the second floor of the TTUHSC in the east pod. The TTUHSC is located on the corner of 4th Street and Indiana in Lubbock, Texas. The TTUHSC (north side) and the University Medical Center (south side) complete the large medical complex. Convenient patient parking is located on the north side of the TTUHSC in Sections A1 and A2. The Clinic is a newly constructed space with accomodations designed according to the American with Disabilities Act. A comfortable waiting room and friendly personnel greet each new client to the clinic. Patients who may need assistance to the clinic can temporarily park under the TTUHSC awning and request a wheel chair or other types of assistance to the Clinic. Clients should call to make an appointment before coming to the clinic. Attempts to accomodate client schedules is a major priority at the TTUHSC Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic, however, beacuse the clinic provides training opportunities for graduate students in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, services follow the University Calendar. Also, due to large caseloads, there may be long waiting periods. Every attempt is made to schedule clients quickly or to refer to other facilities. Clients are encouraged to call early for appointments.
