Welcome to Lubbock

The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy also has a regional campus located on the main campus of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock. We opened these regional classrooms in January of 1998.The regional campus is located in the main TTUHSC building in Lubbock and deploys students to clinical sites in Lubbock and the surrounding region.

Making an Impact

School of Pharmacy faculty in Lubbock have many clinical interests, including adult internal medicine, primary care, geriatrics, pediatrics, community pharmacy and infectious disease research. Their clinical practice sites include the University Medical Center, TTUHSC Clinics and the Garrison Geriatric Education and Care Center.

Lubbock faculty and residents also operate the TTUHSC Pharmacy, which provides medications and biologicals to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Montford Unit Regional Medical Facility; the TTUHSC International Pain Institute; and TTUHSC clinics in Lubbock, Odessa and El Paso.

 

Meet Our Regional Dean

Charles Seifert Charles Seifert, PharmD, FCCP, BCPS

Dr. Seifert serves as Professor of Pharmacy Practice and the Founding Regional Dean for Lubbock Programs with the School of Pharmacy. He was one of the first Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialists in the nation and is a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. His clinical interests include adult internal medicine, gastroenterology, nutrition, clinical toxicology, anticoagulation, and cardiopulmonary therapeutics.

His research interests include nursing education and accuracy in the delivery of medications through internal feeding catheters and the prescribing practices of physicians and the effects on medication safety, mortality; and therapeutic efficacy; osteoporosis; hospital utilization; interprofessional teamwork; heart failure; prescribing practices; and experiential education.
