Year 4 Clerkship Course Description
The goal of clerkships in year 4 is to make the the transition into the residency program smooth for the students when it comes to patient care, medical knowledge and skills. The MICU, Sub internship and ambulatory rotations are meant to develop skills in managing patients independently irrespective of the field the students choose to specialize in. The specialty rotations such as cardiology, nephrology, GI, Hem oncology, ID, pulmonary, and allergy are designed to provide enough experience in managing respective conditions and are meant for students pursuing further training in internal medicine, family medicine, anesthesiology or surgery. These rotations are a unique experience for those who wish to specialize in other fields such as dermatology, ophthalmology or ENT as they will not be able to see these types of cases in their future career.
