Clinical Training

The medical education program at the TTUHSC School of Medicine is fully accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education.  The standard four-year program consists of two years at the Lubbock campus learning the foundational elements of body systems and disease processes with clinical training in years three and four at the Amarillo, Lubbock, or Permian Basin campuses. Campus assignment is completed upon the initial enrollment into the medical education program.
Early clinical experiences are integrated into the first two years of medical school, allowing students the opportunity for hands-on patient experiences while learning the foundations of basic science.  During the third year, students undergo clinical rotations in the areas of family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry, and surgery.
