Mission
The mission of the South Plains Alcohol and Addiction Research Center is to conduct translational, multidisciplinary and collaborative research to better understand the human consequences of alcohol and drug use.
Vision
The vision of the South Plains Alcohol and Addiction Research Center is to become a federally funded NIH Center of Excellence for training and research that contributes to the development of technologically advanced methods of patient care.
Center Goals
- Obtain funds to generate data to support research and career development grants.
- Develop programs and projects to support graduate and post-graduate training grants and fellowships.
- Recruit new basic science and clinical members that strengthen the mission and vision of SPAARC.
- Become nationally and internationally recognized for excellence in translational, multidisciplinary alcohol and substance use disorder research.
