Mission of the Jenna Welch Women's Center

The Jenna Welch Women's Center of the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women's Health provides clinical research, medical education and community partnership to deliver outstanding medical care for women and their families.

History of the Jenna Welch Women's Center (Center)

In 2007, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Midland Memorial Hospital and Medical Center Hospital united to successfully create the Permian Basin presence of the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women's Health Institute. The Texas Tech University System Board of Regents approved the designation of the Center of the Institute in October 2008. In April 2010, Texas Tech Physicians of Midland opened its doors and now houses the Jenna Welch Women's Center, adjacent to Midland Memorial Hospital. In August 2010 Mrs. Laura W. Bush and her mother, Mrs. Jenna Hawkins Welch, attended the Jenna Welch Women's Center dedication. During this event the Center mission was formally announced.

Today, the Jenna Welch Women's Center delivers expert women's healthcare and actively partners with the Laura W. Bush Institute to improve the health and lives of women and families through research, education and community outreach.
